The new 991 Carrera Cabriolet is the latest “air-cooled” 911 to stir the Porsche driver’s emotions with its familiar flat-six soundtrack. Now, the new GEMBALLA GT appearance package compliments the al fresco experience by taking the Cabriolet’s eye appeal to the next level.
The heart of the visual makeover is the GEMBALLA GT aerodynamic package, which starts with a new, front bumper/spoiler section with three large cooling air intakes, and large lip spoilers to provide more stabilising downforce at speed.
The organic lines of the front spoiler extend into the deep side skirts that visually connect the new front to its rear counterpart. The new rear bumper/valance features a recessed panel whose strong top and bottom horizontal lines visually accentuate the width of the car.
The upright reflector lights at each end of the panel give a functional meaning to its extremities and the new composition gives the car a more three-dimensional appearance when seen from this aspect.
A diffuser sits between the distinctive triple outlet pipes of the GEMBALLA stainless steel exhaust system, which takes its design cue from the exhaust of the legendary GEMBALLA Avalanche of the 1980s. The 21st Century GEMBALLA look however, features squared off rather than rounded tips. The deeper voice of this sports exhaust with its valve-operated sound control feature gives the car the soundtrack to match its looks.
In line with the GEMBALLA philosophy of low weight and optimum quality, all these aerodynamic components are made in Germany from top grade carbon-fibre.
These parts are dimension controlled by state-of-the-art laser measuring equipment to ensure a precision fit with the factory bodywork and the original mounting points. As no bodywork modifications are required, the car can easily be returned to standard when the time comes to sell. The GEMBALLA GT aerodynamic-kit is on sale now starting at 19.860€ incl. VAT (in Germany) incl. paintwork and installation.
Even with the standard motor, the GEMBALLA Cabriolet is faster from point to point thanks to its uprated sports suspension and brakes. The 30mm shorter springs are calibrated to work with the factory PASM (Porsche electronic damping control system), while the brake system, developed for GEMBALLA by Brembo, is highly resistant to fade and allows you to set later braking points.
The new GForged-one alloy wheels with their choice of “diamond cut” or “gunmetal” finishes, come in an eye-catching 21-inch diameter. Thanks to modern forged, lightweight construction, they weigh less than the factory 20-inch wheels, benefiting ride and handling. The cost for a set starts at 9.895€ incl. VAT (in Germany) depending on the type of tyres fitted.
GEMBALLA was one of the pioneers of bespoke interior trim in the German tuning industry. That tradition continues today, offering customers complete freedom of material and colour choice.

Experts call Top Marques Monaco “the world’s most exclusive car show” with good reason. It is the only international motor show where the most exclusive names in the automotive industry come together under one roof. The unique venue for this high-end car enthusiasts’ show is the Grimaldi Forum, located in the heart of Monte Carlo. Each year, The Show is opened by HRH Prince Albert of Monaco, patron of the event and connoisseur of fine automobiles. Like Monaco itself, the Top Marques Monaco is not purely motoring centric. As with this gem of a location on the Côte d’Azur, it is a showcase for related luxury activities like yachting, exclusive travel and luxury brands. If the highest levels of individuality and exclusivity are some of the requirements for greatness, then these offerings from GEMBALLA surely qualify: The GEMBALLA TORNADO, based on the Porsche Cayenne (958).
The GEMBALLA MISTRALE based on the Porsche Panamera (970) Design, cutting edge technology and the finest materials are the most important ingredients in the transformation of these fine cars into something really unique. The GEMBALLA TORNADO and the GEMBALLA MISTRALE undergo a near-complete reconstruction of their outer bodyshells, with the majority of the steel panels replaced by light and strong carbon-fibre equivalents made to GEMBALLA’s unique designs. “We have significantly reduced weight, but without compromising strength, safety or comfort,” explained Andreas Schwarz, CEO of GEMBALLA GmbH. “Rather than cutting into the steel panels and bonding on new parts, as is common in the aftermarket industry, we completely replace entire panels with bespoke carbon-fibre ones that use the original mounting points,” he said. “These new panels, which include the bonnet, front wings, doors, front and rear bumper/valance, save a total of 70kg.” The big wheel arches are filled with GEMBALLA’S 22-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. Forged rather than cast, these wheels are stronger than the original 20-inch OE equivalents, but are around the same weight. The new high performance brake system was developed in collaboration with Brembo, exclusively for the MISTRALE and TORNADO. Massive 411mm cross-drilled, vented discs with six-piston monoblock calipers in front are partnered by 380mm cross-drilled, vented discs with four-piston fixed calipers at the rear. The first stage of power upgrade for the twin-turbo V8 engine provides 580hp for the Cayenne/TORNADO, and 610hp for the Panamera/MISTRALE. The latter conversion is accompanied by a healthy 850Nm of torque. Really power hungry customers can opt for Stage 2, which gives both cars 700hp, and around 1,000Nm of torque. This significant output is achieved through the use of larger turbochargers, a modified intake system, high efficiency intercoolers, sports exhaust, free-flow catalytic converters and bespoke ECU remapping. “Optimised efficiency and bespoke high quality components allow us to achieve this impressive output on a relatively low 1.1 bar of boost,” said Schwarz. “The relatively low stress imposed on the engine ensures long term durability and reliability in everyday use.”
GEMBALLA bespoke interiors are world renowned, and the cabins of these cars showcase the company’s skill and craftsmanship, with perfectly colour-co-ordinated upholstery fashioned from the finest leathers and Alcantara. Precision with emotion, right down to the smallest detail is the watchword at GEMBALLA, and the fact that everything is done to individual requirements, means that no two vehicle will be the same. On the occasion of the 30-year Anniversary of GEMBALLA, only 30 each of the GEMBALLA TORNADO and GEMBALLA MISTRALE models will be made for selected customers.

Most look at the Ferrari Enzo and see absolute perfection…………not Gemballa. Check out the full photo gallery and press release of the 2010 Gemballa MIG-U1 Ferrari Enzo. If you didnt see perfection before, I think you will agree Gemballa takes the Enzo to another level.
(Gemballa Press Release)
In the last 27 years, Uwe Gemballa has achieved the best world-wide reputation for refining Porsche cars. Now, the company manager from Leonberg near Stuttgart takes on a new challenge. The automobile manufacturer turns the most potent super sports car from Maranello, the Ferrari Enzo, into the GEMBALLA MIG-U1 – an individually produced edition, limited to only 25 cars.
The core part of the overall makeover is the entirely re-engineered aerodynamics concept by GEMBALLA. Without any exception, the manufacturer produces all components in real carbon in order to combine lowest weight with highest material strength.
Active aerodynamics for the maximum driving experience
Owing to the active aerodynamics conception, the front spoiler lip generates an additional downthrust of up to 35 kilograms at the front axle, according to the individual position. Analogically, the flap on the newly designed rear spoiler generates even up to 85 kilograms more downthrust on the rear wheels. For optimal handling results, the flap lowers, as soon as the car reaches a speed of 120 km/h. In this way, the GEMBALLA-aerodynamics concept adjusts to the outer conditions and always ensures perfect road holding characteristics. All components of the aerodynamics kit attribute to this: starting from the new front skirt with spoiler lip, over the door extensions to the diffuser and rear spoiler.
The air duct system of the GEMBALLA MIG-U1 does not only help bringing the power of the twelve-cylinder car onto the road. At the same time, the engineers from Leonberg (Baden-Württemberg) develop an extensive ventilation- and cooling concept. Here, both the front and the back wheel-houses are supplied with cooling air and this guarantees an optimal use of the high performance braking system. The outlets behind the wheels ensure that the heated air does not pile up. Moreover, the air inlets behind the doors and on the roof supply fresh air into engine compartment behind the passenger cabin. The newly designed air exhaust ducts end in and on top of the rear skirt. Their dimensions also allow the supply of an additional radiator.
The GEMBALLA car body components therefore guarantee the functionality of the new super sports car and provide the car with a unique look at the same time. Following the design of Formula-1 racing cars, the GEMBALLA MIG-U1 has an extended front and an edged rear spoiler. Formerly rounded edges were replaced in order to provide the car with an aggressive look with greedy air inlets and outlets.
Even the rear lights do not remain openly on the back, but are cased and equipped with air ducts. The MIG-U1 grows broader by 80 millimetres at the front- and 100 millimetres at the back axle.
For everyday use, the optional electro-hydraulic height-adjustment (HLS) is extremely innovative and enormously helpful. By pushing a button in the passenger compartment, it is possible to lift the body by 45 millimetres at the front- and rear axle and therefore allows driving over obstacles such as underground car park entrances and traffic ramps. Also by pushing a button or by reaching 80 km/h, the MIG-U1 lowers itself to its original level. Additionally, the multiple adjustable sports suspension which is equipped with ball bearing bushes significantly improves the handling and driving comfort of the MIG-U1.
The forged wheels GEMBALLA GTR RACING forged by our development partner “Advanced Structural Alloys” contribute both to the appearance and the performance of the car. The wheels which are made from a massive light alloy block combined highest stability with an extremely light weight. The elaborate forging process reduces the unsprung masses of one wheel set by 16 kilograms. Therefore, the wheels respond in an even more agile way and precisely follow every steering command even under highest strains. At the front, the 10×19 inch rims hold high-performance wheels in the dimension 265/35, while the back axle transfers the power of the engine through 13×20 inch rims with 335/30 wheels.
The twelve cylinder engine of the GEMBALLA MIG-U1 works with an optimised motor management and an especially adjusted exhaust system. This combination allows a performance output of 700 hp (515 kW). The four-pipe system with pneumatic flap control is added to the sports catalyser. The end-pipes are equipped with the typical GEMBALLA heat shield and share the exit into the rear skirt with the exhaust ducts of the rear wheel houses.
High-End for the Interior
In the interior, GEMBALLA devises a control centre which perfectly combines functionality and comfort. The especially for the GEMBALLA MIG-U1 designed seats, the custom-made centre console and the sports steering wheel with its leather-ultra suede combination guarantee full control over the car. At the same time, the interior of this super sports car reflects pure luxury. All interior components are lined with leather and ultra suede. The integrated high-end multimedia system offers a seven-inch touch screen, navigation, DVD changer and an iPod connection. The 950-Watt amplifier operates the high frequency ranges in the cockpit front, the 165 millimetre large membrane on the door linings and the subwoofer between the seats. GEMBALLA-logos on the seats, the floor mats and the safety belts perfect the refinement.
With the GEMBALLA MIG-U1, the automobile manufacturer once again proves that its know-how is not only limited to Porsche cars. On the basis of the already exhilarating Ferrari Enzo, the engineers developed a unique car. But even the limited edition with only 25 cars is not exclusive enough for GEMBALLA. Therefore, every single GEMBALLA MIG-U1 is individually adjusted. This ensures that there will not be any identical cars. Therefore, the specialist with its reputation for unique high-end refinement once again meets the requirements for highest individuality.
